Summary

On June 30th, 2013 Ron left his home in Cape Town, South Africa, in an attempt to cycle a single continuous journey through all 48 countries on mainland Africa (a world first), with the ultimate goal of reaching the UK in time to watch the South African National Rugby team at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England. Just over two years later Ron had completed 42,000 km (26,000 miles), through 75 countries in total. Needless to say, a trip that changed his life. Oh, and South Africa lost the rugby game.

I can't wait to listen to it and I'm being really candid. I've not heard this one yet. So I'm

0:46.4

excited to listen to it as I produce it here and share it with you. But I wanted to visit with

0:53.9

you a little bit about my own Africa adventure.

0:57.0

And of course I'm talking about the Kilimanjaro climb that's coming up in January.

1:01.9

We are climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for We See Hope, which is an humanitarian organization

1:10.0

that has been helping homeless children in Africa now for 25 years,

1:15.7

and they have already impacted, helped 850,000 kids.

1:22.8

So I made the announcement about this a few episodes back.

1:26.8

The name of the episode is simply special announcement, Kilimanjaro, for We See Hope.

1:33.2

I want to update you on the progress that we've made.

1:36.7

So the goal here is that everyone that is on this expedition to climb Kilimanjaro is raising $20,000 for Wee See Hope, each person. And the goal was to have

1:49.7

15 climbers, so that's $300,000 for We See Hope. I made the announcement about a week ago,

1:58.3

and we've even interviewed the founder of We See Hope, Phil Wall,

2:02.7

and I've shared all of that with you. I'm very, very thankful for the people that have

2:08.3

given to this effort. And I want to point out, none of the climbers are getting anything

2:13.6

from this. If you donate to this project, then we are not getting any of that. It's not

2:20.0

paying our way to kill Imjaro or anything like that. Everyone is self-funded to get there and to do
