Hi everybody. Tom Woods here. We talk a lot about war on this show and as libertarians, and from time

to time we talk about the effects of war on domestic life.

And that could have to do with the growth of government. It could have to do with the effects

of war on, well, on the way the public thinks about the role of government. There are all kinds

– in other words, there are ideological consequences that come from war.

There can be consequences having to do with civil liberties.

And the book we're going to be talking about today explores this question very effectively from a scholarly standpoint.

It's called Tyranny Comes Home, the domestic fate of U.S. militarism.

And co-author Christopher Coyne joins us once again today.

Chris is F.A. Harper Professor of Economics at George Mason University and Associate Director

of the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center.

He's also the Director of graduate studies in the

economics department at George Mason University, and he joins us now to talk about this
