magazines in the industry.

With some of the finest fishing writers it's not hard to see why.

In this episode of Anckered, I sit down with Tom to learn more about the evolution of his career,

how he's managed to keep his privacy while growing the Drake as a brand,

and his infamous Drake Forum Board. I was born in Newburgh, Oregon, which is the Lama Valley and its wine country.

It wasn't really wine country at the time.

There was one or two vineyards out there, but now it's really kind of a destination place,

which I'm a little embarrassed that I'm not more of a wine expert because that's kind of,

when people hear that now, they think, oh, what's your favorite pino or whatever but it's a very neat little

You're like the pinaot?

Exactly that Willemette River. Yeah, so that's where I grew up the The town's called Newburgh. It was about eight miles

outside of town on a farm that was called a ribbon ridge and that's now its own

I think it's called ASA or whatever, the agricultural designation for that particular

grape or wine or whatever.

So it's a really, it was an absolute great childhood.

I mean, parents awesome, on a farm, 37 acres, what

Mark had you asked for as a little boy?

Like a room to play.

Was it like a proper farm where you had to go collect eggs?
