Welcome to the program. We've got Dave Landau coming up. Oh, it's a lot of fun. But we're to start by doing the government shutdown of 2025. Yes, it's here. It's exciting. I think we're all pumped up about it.

Look, the main thing for me was able to win my investment

0:22.0

on the prediction markets about the shutdown because it just seemed like there was nowhere for

0:26.8

either one of these sides to go. Republicans didn't want to give in, obviously. Why would they?

0:31.1

1:23.1

new idea at the last minute, well, that would have to go back to the House. So what are you going to do?

1:26.9

55-45 vote GOP plan, which would extend funding through November 21st, fell short of the 60

1:32.2

needed for passage. Republicans also blocked Democrats' plan, which would extend funding through

1:36.2

the end of October. So, you know, only a month. And add more than a trillion in health care

1:41.8

spending. Obviously, not going to do that. It was 53-47.
