All right, we have been talking for a while on this show.

I think the last two weeks or so, we've been talking about Plato's cave.

And I've been promising for a while that as we build up some of these ideas

and trace them throughout the history of Western thought,

we're eventually going to get to the modern day.

And now is the time.

I want to talk to you about Plato's cave and the metaverse.

Let me say a little bit about why I want to bring Plato's cave

into our modern techno world.

Obviously, this is a show for delivering the classical education

that you didn't know you were missing to you.

It's called young heretics because it's becoming increasingly

heretical according to social justice, dogma or woke dogma

or whatever you want to call it, to explore the great traditions of the West

and to affirm them and hold them up as the jewels of really some of the jewels of human thought.

And when we do that, of course, it has its own pleasure

to dig into the archives of the greats.

But we always want to keep in mind, I think,

one of the central aspects of a good education

is to always keep in mind that these fancy books, these famous writers

and these big idea philosophers, they're great precisely

because they have something to say to you,
