And I've got a couple of guests with me today who are wrapped up in Internet controversy.

Oh, once again.

That's right.

Layle and Rue are on the podcast today to talk about.

Layle's new FKT that she just set this past Thursday on the Arizona Trail.

She set a time of nine days, eight hours, and 23 minutes,

which bested the previous FKT set by Nate Ginston,

who came in at nine days, 10 hours, and 44 minutes.

Shortly after she finished, there was a post made on the Arizona Trail Instagram page

that stated that Layles' time would not be recognized as the record for violating

rules regarding media crew and visitations on course. I wish I could say that her ITT sparked a

discussion about the rules surrounding self-supported bike pack races, but instead, most people were just quick to make assumptions and cast aspersions

before Lail and Rue could even dust themselves off after a massive effort in the desert.

And to me, this was the saddest part.

It's fine to have opinions and to disagree, but the manner it's being

conducted online is toxic, it's narrow-minded, and it's damaging to our sport and our community.

So on today's episode, we're going to address many of the issues that were brought up online

and actually give Layle and Rue a chance to weigh in.
