Summary

If you’ve ever wondered what God is like, look no further than Jesus. And if you’ve wondered what Jesus is like, His compassion for the sick, forgotten, and outsider reveals His unmatched heart of love and kindness for people like you and me. Join me as we begin a brand new collection of messages called Jesus Changes Everything! We’ll be looking specifically at His healings and miracles. Today we’ll dive into the Gospel of Matthew where Jesus demonstrates not only His ability but His willingness to heal both a leper and a Roman centurion’s servant. We’ll be encouraged by Jesus’ power and compassion as we watch Him break down religious and social barriers to bring His “contagious holiness.”  Don’t miss the first of this new collection of messages from Matthew 8-9! In the next several episodes, we will see 10 miracles of Jesus at work and the specific way that Matthew groups these stories together to illustrate the characteristics and life of Jesus. Yeah. Access more. Hello and welcome back to the Cultivate Podcast. I am so glad you are here with me. I have to tell you, I am not at my dining room table today. And it is messing me up a little bit because I like to sit there and I like to look out the windows and I like to think of you as across the table from me because I love this intimate setting of being able to teach the Bible with you in a way

1:12.8

that we can really connect. But anyway, nobody cares about that, apparently, except for me and you,

1:18.7

because there is construction going on next door to me. It's really loud. And so it's like right

1:25.5

outside my dining room table. I have been kind of banished into my guest room and it is a disaster in here.

1:32.1

There are books everywhere.

1:33.2

There are bills that probably need to be paid.

1:36.5

Stacks of paper everywhere.

1:38.2

And I'm kind of crammed into this little secretary back here.

1:42.0

But it's quiet.

1:43.3

And so that's where I'm coming from today. But I am

1:46.6

super excited because we are starting kind of a new collection of episodes today. And it is all going

1:54.6

to center around the life of Jesus, specifically out of Matthew chapters eight and nine.

2:00.7

So if you have been with me for the first 10 episodes,

2:04.3

you know it was just kind of an all over the place collection of my favorite passages of

2:09.9

scripture or some of them. I still have several left that will be, will be, in fact,

2:15.4

some of these of my favorites are coming up here, but,
