First, William Damon from Stanford. Second, Roy Baumeister from Florida State.

Music My guest today is William Damon. He is a professor of education at the Stanford Graduate School of Education,

director of the Stanford Center on Adolescence, and a senior fellow at the Stanford University's

Hoover Institution.

He's one of the world's leading researchers on the development of purpose in life and the author

of the widely influential book, The Path to Purpose.

Also, and this is really cool, in January 2018, Bill was named one of the 50 most influential psychologists

in the world. Quite an honor. And for me, I'm honored that as a political science major,

with not great grades at all, who has put together some pretty cool investing books, but I feel honored and fortunate

that I get to continue to learn every time I do this podcast and I get a chance to talk to

brilliant men like William Damon. Think about it. Put yourself in my shoes. I just told you my academic

chops. There's nothing to write home about. Absolutely nothing to write home about. I dialed it in.

I got through an undergraduate and I got through an MBA. Key phrase, got through.
