But I remember exactly where I was when I met this guest.

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, sitting at a cafe along the water,

on the beach, actually, I think we were having a beer. He was very casual, I was very casual,

shorts, t-shirt, flip-flops. And almost immediately he asked me, what was Richard Dennis looking for when he hired his students?

Now, this is a really interesting question coming from a very interesting person.

And I couldn't beat around the bush.

I had to be very direct.

And I said he was looking for students who could think in terms of odds. And this person, my guest today, said to me, is that your idea

or did someone tell you to say that? Something to that effect, which I thought was a great

indication of his personality. The skeptical,

quizzical, probing, figuring out a puzzle, pushing on people to find out what they're really made of.

My guest today is Ed Sikoda, and as I mentioned, this is a repeat episode. Ed is one of my favorite

people that I have ever met in my life.

He is just a terribly interesting slash super smart guy who somehow or another has this way to just see.
