and I was observing all the sights and sounds of Los Angeles, you know, like the smoke in the sky that

obscures the sun so that it feels like you're an apocalyptic Mad Max movie. Now, the sites of homeless people going through your garbage can, like directly in front of your home. And then a few blocks later, homeless people pissing onto the sidewalks. And the sights and sounds of L.A., the things that make L.A. really, really tremendous. But there's one thing that juxtaposed with all of these things reminds you why L.A. is such a great city, and that is the

law and signs. See, there is this thing that's happened in L.A., probably over the last few years,

where people feel the necessity to put out a signal of their own virtue and wonderfulness.

It is a symbol of their own dissociation from their evil, terrible, benighted fellow Americans.

It's basically like Passover for the social justice warriors, where if you put out this

lawn sign on your lawn, then everybody is supposed to pass right over you because you are one

of the virtuous. It's like blood on the lintel during Passover. You're supposed to, the gods

of social justice wokeness will pass right over your home and move right on to the next home because you have been touched by the hand of tolerance. There's this law and sign, again, I don't know if it's in other cities. In L.A., it is extremely, extremely common. I would say that probably every suburban block in L.A. has three or four of these online everywhere. And these are not kind of normal political signs that just say which political candidate you

support.

They are semantically overloaded virtue signaling signs.

And what they are truly designed to do is, of course, suggest that you are better than

other people.

You're better than other people because they are filled with tautologies that don't mean
