Welcome to Sarah's Bookshelves Live. I'm Sarah of the blog Sarah's Bookshelves. Each week I'm

0:15.5

talking with one bookish guest about two old books they love, two new books they love, one book they don't love, and one new

0:22.7

release they're excited about. We're going to get real and sometimes a bit snarky about all things

0:28.3

books. If you like the show, I'd really love your support. Spread the word to your reader friends,

0:33.8

subscribe to the show, rate and review it wherever you listen to podcasts. Let's get rolling.

Welcome to the Spring 2022 book preview. As usual for these quarterly previews,

0:45.1

Catherine from Gilmore Guide, is with me today. Welcome back, Catherine. Thank you.

0:50.6

Excited to be here. Before we get started on the books, I do have one quick announcement.

0:56.0

0:57.6

I wanted to let y'all know about something new and exciting we have coming up.

1:02.7

I have been doing my summer reading guide for nine years now.

1:06.7

1:16.3

guide for Superstars patrons. And Superstars patrons are the ones that pay $7 a month.

1:22.2

My regular summer reading guide will be totally normal as it is every year. This will just be

1:27.1

something in addition to that.

1:28.9

The supplement is called Summer Shelves and will feature backlist summer reading recommendations

1:34.3

from our podcast guests. And you will get picks from Catherine and Susie as well. My own summer

1:40.4

reading guide is mostly front list books. I do have some backlist books in there,

1:44.8

but it's definitely at least 60, maybe even 70% front list. And that front list, obviously,

1:51.6

new books, new releases that came out in 2022. So I thought the Summer Shelf's supplement

1:57.8

would be a great place to incorporate some backlist picks.

2:01.5

And I love that we are getting to highlight reading tastes that are different from my own.
