I like to say that the current LGBT-Q activist movement is in its third wave and you know comparing

it to feminism first second third perhaps even fourth wave feminism. The first being beginning maybe with

Stonewall, the second beginning around the time in the 80s when homosexuality

was removed from the DSM and then the third wave

beginning after a burgofel after gay marriage became legal in the US.

As you know it is still Pride Month, and though this month long celebration of sex

and autonomy seems to be more muted this year than in years past, perhaps, we're still

navigating how to respond to a movement that no longer

simply wants to be tolerated but demands to be celebrated and that of course is the

purpose of June and Pride Month. This insistence is based on the premise that our sexual

desires are actually our identity. They further argue that our desires are

immutable. They cannot change. It's like a race or

our sex, although of course they do think our sex can change and there's some irony

and that and maybe we'll get into it. But sexual orientation we are told is like being
