I am wrapping up my Southern Arizona Winter Vacation, and I've been completely spoiled on this trip.

Thanks to a good friend, Jonathan O'Dell.

Jonathan's been on our podcast in the past.

He's besides being a trained biologist and historian of conservation and a leader of migratory bird

management in Arizona and to some degree, the Pacific Flyway, Jonathan is an unbelievable wild game

chef, unbelievable. He is the hands-on guy of you can bring anything to the table and he'll cut it

up and do something with it and you're gonna love it when he's done with it. So, Jonathan's gonna

spend some time here. We're gonna talk about cranes. Jonathan's one of, he's probably the only

guy I know who's a fanatic crane hunter and I'm interested in cranes because he's fed them to me

and they're fantastic. I'm interested in crane biology, crane management, conservation of cranes,

and I suspect it's gonna lead us down a bunch of other tangents. I don't know what those will be,

but we're gonna find out. Jonathan told me about crane hunting. He said,

imagine having to defend yourself from thousands of teradactyls. That's what crane hunting is.

Telling in cheek, there's no need to defend yourself, but just thinking about how cool that is.
