Summary
Running: Elise Downing on Becoming the First Woman to Run Self-Supported Around the UK Coast – From Crayola Costume Marathon to Record-Breaking Adventure and Her Best-Selling Book Coasting.
Originally published June 21, 2022
Elise is a runner, author and all-round outdoors lover. In 2016 she became the first woman and youngest person to run self-supported around the coast of the UK – an adventure she was completely unqualified for, as an unexperienced runner whose athletic career consisted of one horrendous marathon dressed as a Crayola crayon. She is the author of best-selling book Coasting, which tells the story of her adventure and aims to show others that you don’t need to be the best at something to achieve something big. You just have to be the one who does it.
