program, July 4th is well worth celebrating. Independence Day is well worth celebrating because it celebrates

the fundamental principles espoused by the United States at its inception, not completely

fulfilled for huge swaths of Americans,

but fulfilled gradually over time. We talked yesterday on the program, specifically about July

4th and what it meant, the principles of inalienable rights pre-existing government, the idea

of equality before the law and equality in those rights, and the notion of a government

that was created to protect those God-given rights. That is worthy of celebration on July 4th. Well, the alternative perspective,

which is that America is not worth celebrating, has obviously gained a foothold in the United States,

a massive foothold in the United States. But it's not just that. There's a certain vitriol

that comes along with this perspective on America that is truly incredible.
