Illinois hangs on in the rankings.

There's a case to leave them out, and a lot of people did.

But they're hanging on at number 23, leading into a game.

I guess number 21 USC big noon kickoff.

Wish you left a little bit better showing leading into a national showcase game like this.

But Jay, I thought we were kind of done reacting to games like this. This is something from the

past, something we haven't seen under Brett Bielmo. So how did you kind of compute this as it was

playing out on Saturday

night where Illinois wasn't even in the same neighborhood as the Hoosiers? Not even in the same

zip code for sure. I mean, it was on every phase a demolition. Offensively, defensively,

special teams will break it all down. I would say this too. I was accustomed under other coaching staffs to kind of feel like we

were in the game until about 10 minutes to go in the second quarter. And it felt exactly like that.

Hard to watch, difficult to see bad fundamental football on a lot of different levels. I think that was the discouraging thing to me,

and we'll talk more in depth about that. You know, I try to look for a game that reminded me of

this as Illinois. I really can't where the program's at. I mean, you could you could say all

kinds of, I mean, I'm a guy that got beat on national TV against Penn State in 2005.

I believe 63 to 3, maybe 63 10, I'm not sure. Maybe it'd be an identical score 20 years.
