I regret to inform you that I wish to begin today by reading to you from an article by David French.

Now, I truly, I do not wish to participate in French bashing.

I've tried to keep this show throughout its lifespan, relatively free of French bashing.

For the simple reason that I think we have enough of it out there in the world already.

I don't agree with French about a lot of stuff.

He's taken a track ever since Trump that really doesn't seem like the right one to me.

And frequently he comes up with takes that seem ill-informed.

So, let that be known.

But I don't want to, you know, malign the man's character or whatever.

We've been there.

There's been enough of that done already.

I just want to read to you from this piece he wrote in the Atlantic.

I think it's part of one of their newsletters.

And it's headlined Ron DeSantis Ames at Disney hits the first amendment.

And French has been going on about this for a while.

But DeSantis' efforts in Florida to reign in the radicalism of public school

teachers, especially in younger grades, on gender issues and the LGBTQIA plus plus alphabet soup.

DeSantis' efforts are a misguided attempt to crush enemies without regard for the first amendment.

That it's an insult to free speech that sort of betrays conservative principles.

Undoes all of these years of commitment to free speech in the first amendment.

And now the latest thing that has happened is that DeSantis has been trying to take some legal action

against Disney because Disney famously has announced that it, you know,
