| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Big Fat Positive with Shauna and Laura. This week we have our weekly check-ins. We have our special segment, Today I Learned, where we learn all about queens, kangaroos, and vaginas. And we close with our BFPs and BFNs for the week. Let's get to it. |
| 0:17.9 | Hey, everyone. Welcome to the show. This is episode 102. Hello, Shana. Hi. You want to tell us how old your toddler is and how you're doing this week? Oh, yes. So Cece is 17 months in one week. And this has been a pretty uneventful week, which is good. I welcome the un-emets of life. So I just have like a few, |
| 0:40.4 | like, cute little new things she's doing to report. So the first thing is she's getting pretty |
| 0:46.1 | assertive, but in a cute way, like she has taken to, like, walking up to me or Steve, |
| 0:53.4 | grabbing our finger and like like, leading us to |
| 0:56.0 | wherever she wants to go. |
| 0:57.5 | Usually to the kitchen, to the snack cabinet, right? |
| 1:00.2 | Or whatever. |
| 1:01.4 | To a book. |
| 1:02.0 | And, yeah, she just, like, let her take charge and lead the way and show us where she wants |
| 1:06.9 | to go. |
| 1:07.8 | So that's really cute. |
| 1:09.2 | That is adorable. |
| 1:10.8 | And then along the same lines, like some of her |
| 1:13.6 | assertive behavior, like we were reading a book. You know how a lot of kids' baby board books have |
| 1:19.0 | like fuzzy, I don't know, animal tails and tactile. Yeah, they're like touch and feel. Yeah. |
| 1:24.1 | Yeah. Touch and feel books. We have a lot of those. And I was reading with her one night and she touched the fuzzy tail or whatever and then I touched it. And then she stopped and she turned and grabbed my pointer finger, pulled it over to the book and took charge of rubbing my finger all over the fluffy tail. You have to feel this, mom. Yeah. It's just, it's so cute. It's so fun to watch their |
| 1:50.3 | little personalities and preferences and stuff just start to really come alive as they get older |
| 1:57.4 | into the toddler years. I love it. I also love this idea, like, they understand you're |
| 2:01.5 | separate now, you know? It's like, no, you have to feel it too. Yeah, I think that is where it |
| 2:08.4 | comes from. Although, what she did after she put my finger on it, is she turned and found a button |
| 2:13.6 | on my shirt, like there's like a shirt pocket with a little button. She grabbed that and then |
