something more or you're stuck or you know you're capable of more, but you're just not sure how to

get there. I understand that. I've been there. Believe me, I'm still there, and this is why I started this

pod and this journey. To share what I've learned in nearly four decades in the broadcast

industry, talking to high achievers of every kind, and to continue to grow and learn and

transform myself as well. I'm entering a new season myself, a new chapter, and I want to make damn sure

that I crush this one and I don't make some of the mistakes that I've made in the past.

I have a tremendous guest for you in a few moments, one of the truly great leaders in all of

college basketball that I can't wait to introduce to you, but first I want to share a personal story, a story

of mission and alignment, a story about the importance of having a clearly defined mission

and how critical it is to be aligned with that mission and what happens if you're not.

So why do you have to have a mission? Well, if you don't have a mission, then you must be fine drifting

aimlessly throughout your life with no direction and no purpose. Without any sort of mission

and roadmap, where exactly are you going to end up? Probably in a ditch somewhere, unless you get

really lucky, but why would you leave that to chance?

No, you need to determine exactly what your mission is. Now, I can't tell you what that is. You have to

look inward and do the hard work yourself. I know what my mission is. Therefore, I know what I need

to do and just importantly, what not to do to stay on
