It is training camp time kicks off on Friday evening for Illinois football, and we dive deep

into Illinois football season, and we dive deep into the trenches. We bring out Martin O'Donnell,

former O'I, All-American, former O'I-Nai radio analyst. He missed last year as radio analyst,

but we dive into that about the season, what he

thought of that, what he thinks of the team returning, but we really dive deep into the

offensive line and defensive line as well. Martin always brought down the radio broadcast. I know he

wore his orange and blue on his sleeve during those broadcasts. I know that to resonate with Alainai fans.

The one thing I really miss about Martin is every Monday at the Illinois Coach's Press

Conference, he would have lunch with us, and I'd be able to pick his brain about Illinois

offensive line play, about what happened in the game, what he saw here and there.

Something you can only get from somebody who's played at that high of a level, And for anybody that knows Martin, he's incredibly intelligent. So I always learned so much

every week just talking with him. So I was like, let's bring that here to the podcast and let's talk

some offensive line and defensive line. And it was phenomenal. I learned a lot about the personnel for

Illinois, about what Bart Miller has brought to that position group and what continuity can do.

But also we talk about the defensive line.

It's a revamp again on the defensive line in this defensive front.

I think we feel pretty strongly that Illinois is going to be good everywhere else on the defense.

But we dive into what Martin wants to see from that group.

That includes a lot of newcomers.

One, everyone's really excited about James Thompson,

but some other guys that got some proving to do.
