Let's dive right into your gang. Just two months after France's presidential election that gave a Manuel Macron's second term, voters went to the polls yesterday to determine the makeup of their national assembly. That's France's parliament.

France separates their presidential election from their wider parliamentary election by a couple of months.

With all the votes in, the results were stunning. Macron was dealt a massive blow as his end marsh coalition and marshes his party lost their absolute majority in the lower house of parliament to a massive surge from Marine Le Pen's populist party national rally.

And as such for the first time in 20 years, a newly elected French president failed to win an absolute majority in parliament.

Macron's party was one only 245 seats from the 577 seat national assembly. A huge embarrassment compared to what he won the last time in 2017, which was 350 seats.

Red voters turned in mass to the national's populist right. Marine Le Pen's national rally made huge gains. What France 24 is calling historic gains in Sunday's parliamentary elections.

They are according to the latest reports national rally. They're on track to win anywhere from 85 to 90 seats, which goes way beyond the record gains that they were predicted to pick up.

No poll as I understand projected this near 100 seats surge. The best case scenario was they projected a 50 seat again, which itself would have been historic for national rally.
