My first edition of my book trend following, April 2004.

A no-name author, me.

They gave me $15,000 to write it.

Not exactly changing my life.

I think the publisher probably thought it was going to fail.

That's the kind of money they give you if they think the book is going to fail.

Enough to get you interested to finish it, but they're not expecting much.

Well, the book has gone on to sell over 150,000 copies.

After that first edition, there was quickly within 18 months a second edition because we needed a new addition to get into the bookstores because

the first edition had done so well. I don't understand all the logic to this, but this was the

book industry at the time. It's probably not changed. Then there was a third edition, a paperback

edition. Then there was the fourth edition that was inspired by the events of

the fall of 2008. I called up the publisher and I said, time for a fourth edition. And then there was

the fifth edition, the current edition, which while written in 2017, is as current as it can be, because damn it, trend following is

timeless.

Now, this 2017 fifth edition with a new publisher is a beast.
