Don't like the government spying on you? Well, visit Express atVPN.com to stay anonymous. Well, everything is stupid. You may have noticed this. Like all the things, they are all stupid because we're not allowed to make risk-reward calculations and we're apparently not supposed to discuss how public policy is actually made. We're just supposed to pretend that public policy has no tradeoffs

0:38.1

and that the smartest people in the world don't make tradeoffs at all. In fact, there's good and

0:42.3

there's evil in politics and there's nothing in between. There is no sort of attempt to

0:46.6

create metrics of success. All of this just doesn't exist. This is at least according to many

news. Let's start with some good news today. I know. There is some. So scientists on Wednesday

announced the first effective treatment against coronavirus, an experimental drug that can speed

the recovery of COVID-19 patients. It's a major medical advance that came as the economic gloom caused by the scourge deepened in the United States and Europe. This is according to the Associated Press. The U.S. government said it is working to make the antiviral medication at remdesivir available to patients as quickly as possible. Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested that this will be the standard of care. Here was Dr. Fauci

1:46.1

yesterday talking up remdesivir. The data shows that remdesivir has a clear-cut, significant,

1:53.4

positive effect in diminishing the time to recovery. This is really quite important for a number of reasons. Although a 31%

2:03.6

improvement doesn't seem like a knockout 100%. It is a very important proof of concept.

2:11.6

Because what it is proven is that a drug can block this virus.
