Joe is an award-winning photographer offer and sought after speaker.

Through her long-term body of work, We Animals, she has been documenting our complex relationship with animals around the globe.

Since 1998, her work has taken it to almost 60 countries and in 2019, she founded We Animals Media.

MacRfe's first book, We Animals, was published in 2014 by Lanten Books.

Her second book, Captive, was published by Lanten Books in 2017.

And something I'm looking forward to hopefully talking about on the podcast is the 2013 documentary,

The Ghosts in Our Machine, which was directed by Liz Marshall and followed Joanne MacArthur as she went around documenting the plight of abused and exploited animals.

And that interesting was one of the first animal rights documentaries that I ever watched and it affected me very profoundly.
