The Realignment is a podcast that is focused on exploring the radical shifts in American

politics and policy brought about by the election of Donald Trump, populist revolts across

Europe and the arrival of an aggressive and apologetic China on the world stage.

A guest this week is JD Vance, author of Hoboaleology. In his memoir, JD reflects on his tumultuous

childhood growing up in the rust belt and service in the Marine Corps and how his experiences

informed his perspective on the current crisis facing American families and society.

The memoir is also being adapted into a Netflix film by Ron Howard. JD previously worked

with Peter Teal at Mithril Capital and he's currently managing partner at Rise of the

Rest of Venture Capital Fund focused on attracting investment to the heartland.

trade organization, how conservative should approach the free market, what it means to
