Alright, welcome to the Giants Nation Podcast Episode 1. I'm your host Bobby Skinner here with Danny King.

And we're looking forward to this. We did it. So if you didn't listen to our intro pod, basically we both work for NYC Sports Nation.

The Giants Nation Department. I do some work for Giants Nation, but also host Simple Man Radio, a national podcast.

I'm not going to talk about that too much. Basically, if you want to know the whole vision for the show, listen to the intro pod. It's seven minutes long.

And yeah, for this, what we're going to do is, you know, for episode one, we're knocking out, you know, rookie college quarterbacks, what we think, breaking them down.

And then, but we'll start each show with whatever the latest news was in the week. Almost every show be out on Tuesday.

Things will change around the draft and season and whatnot. And yeah, then we'll have some interviews.

We're up in the Ritz-Soyper interview that I did on some main radio a couple of weeks ago on here.

And yeah, so let's get right into it. Danny, how you doing? I'm doing great. Are you doing good? Good.

So before we get into these college quarterbacks, Haskins Murray, the biggest, the two biggest things that came out from Giants this week,

Connor Barlin was released. We'll talk about that briefly. But the Giants, you know, we've been wondering what either we're going to do with Eli.

I actually thought he was going to retire and get him a press conference after the season.

That looks to be changed. Eli's agent has said he wants to come back.

And a few people have reported that the Giants want to do the Alex Smith Patrick Mahomes thing like they did like the Chiefs did where, you know, they let Alex Smith play the whole year.

And then traded him or obviously Eli will probably retire at that point and then let the rookie come in and after giving a full year on the bench.

Danny, what do you think of that whole situation?

I mean, it worked out well in Kansas City. So I mean, you can hope it works here. But the question is, can they get the right guy to do that? That's really the main question at the moment.

Yeah, definitely. Like you said, it worked out in Kansas City, but Kansas City also had an amazing start last season without that they started out six and our out Smith would like to be an MVP.

And things fell off a little bit, but he was still a good QB. And then, you know, what we saw of him in Washington, he was still pretty good QB.

And they're playing Kansas City, whereas compared to New York, there's going to be so much scrutiny. If we have another star like we've had the last two seasons.

That, you know, that sounds good, but it's not going to happen. We're going to be calling for whoever is drafted right away. I mean, we see my homes is kind of the outlier where everybody says they want to do that.
