Meanwhile, there is this bit of news from Axios.

Seven U.S. allies have announced in a joint statement their support for a potential coalition.

Well, that's good news.

The purpose of the coalition to reopen the strait of whore moves for commercial ships and oil tankers.

A reality check, the statement does not include any actual commitment to send naval vessels or other resources to make this happen.

For now, it's largely a gesture to placate President Trump,

who has railed against allies for declining to help secure the strait of Hormuz and warned that a

failure to do so could undermine the future of NATO. What does he mean by that?
