or actually to acknowledge the verification of one of the theories about understanding

Donald J. Trump, which I think is most persuasive, that has the most substance to it.

One of the things about President Trump is he loves the spotlight.

He loves being the center of attention.

Now that's true for loads of media personalities, movie stars, and politicians.

But for Trump, it's a ruling principle.

And he likes the idea that people are talking about him.

It's one of those things that has helped to shape his career,

and it is apparently helping to shape his cabinet.

He has just made two very surprising, very sure to be controversial selections for another key

position in the government, which is Attorney General.

Merrick Garland, who was the outgoing Attorney General, who served all four years for President Trump,

was a very distinguished appeals court justice for a long time.

He was a veteran member of the judiciary. And then he was

appointed to the Supreme Court by Barack Obama, but that nomination never got confirmed

because Mitch McConnell wouldn't bring it to the floor of the Senate to be decided.

And it would occur right at time when you could still delay the nomination, and they delayed it. Mitch McConnell did until Trump came to power,

and then he nominated Neil Gorsuch instead of Merrick Arlen. But Merrick Arlen's credentials were

impeccable to be Attorney General, certainly, and I don't think there was much organized opposition

...
