And another great day, another great week in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth,

and there is actually great news, a great development.

One of the many, many crises, one of the many,

disasters we had awaiting the United States of America has been diverted or at least postponed.

And that's a good thing. And congratulations to the Speaker of the House, the Honorable Mike Johnson,

Republican of Louisiana. He struck a deal with the White House, that's Joe Biden, and top Democrats

yesterday, the calls for keeping the government funded at current levels through December 20th.

And it strips out a provision demanded by President Trump that would have revised

election laws nationwide to require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote.

Now this would have had no impact on this election because it's too late to change the rules

for this election. We're in the middle of it.

I mean, people are already voting in South Dakota and Minnesota and in Virginia,

and they're going to be starting to send in mail ballots all over the country.

But the point is the House plans to vote this week on a three-month stop-yat funding bill as the clock ticks down.

And Donald Trump continues apparently, or reportedly, at least according to pressure Republicans to shut down the government without policy concessions they

have no realistic chance of achieving.
