A great day in a great nation, despite the fact that there is great horror in a small

city not too far from Atlanta because of a school shooting there. At least four people have died.

Nine others were injured. They have apprehended the shooter, who is apparently a student-aged person,

as he has been described on the networks.

We will bring you any further information when he has been identified.

One of the questions that I would ask about this is with all of the shootings we have all over the country.

I mean, just looking at various headlines, a headline in the

Seattle Times. And Seattle is not the safest city in the country, but it is safer than most.

And yet there were six people driving home or driving on the I-5, which is the main artery here,

who were shot by some crazy lunatic who has now been arrested.

He was driving in a white Volvo and shooting at people in six different locations.

Okay, six people shot. And then also five shot at West Indian Day Parade. That's in New York City.

And of course, Chicago, gunman kills four people on an elevated train.

And again, why, of course, school shootings are particularly horrible.

And this suit in Winder, Winder, Georgia, I believe they pronounce it, in Barrow County. It's Appalachy High School.

And it's terribly sad. And it's terribly horrifying. And there is a sense that people have in

this country, I think increasingly we need to do something about it. And it is something that

probably will get some attention in the presidential debates that are scheduled, believe it or not, it's six nights from tonight.
