and yes, a majority of Americans, and maybe not an overwhelming majority,

but a majority would describe themselves as people of some faith or another.

Of course, about 60% of Americans, as opposed to what used to be, close to 90% of Americans,

describe themselves as Christians.

And that is a factor in this election. There is a brand new poll by Marquette University Law School, which shows that the religious orientation that people take is a major factor in determining whether they are supporting Donald J. Trump or Joe Biden, and which is why both the

candidates are increasingly trying to connect with religious people. Somebody who's written about this very deeply and profoundly

is David French, who is not only an outstanding attorney, an attorney who defended religious

liberty for many years, working with the alliance defending freedom. And But he is also a commentator, a columnist for the New York Times, and a best-selling author, and much more.

His most recent column, well, one of his most recent columns is one that has the headline, Trump is no savior.

several articles. There was a piece that in the New York Times yesterday by Michael Bender with the headline

political rallies morph into Church of Trump framing a holy battle. Do you think that this is going

to be a successful political strategy that President Trump is now basically defining the election as a faith-based choice.

I mean, this goes along with him selling his $60 Bibles.

I do think it's going to be successful for consolidating evangelical support and maintaining evangelical support,

whether it is successful enough to win him in the White House is a different matter.
