And that is one of the nation's three independent senators, Senator Kirsten Cinema of Arizona.

The Arizona Independent, elected as a Democrat, she has just announced in time for Super Tuesday that she will retire at the end of her term this year, blaming growing partisanship

and mudslinging in Washington for driving her decision to not seek re-election.
