Summary

Tim Emmett is a professional extreme sports athlete and TV presenter who has appeared on numerous BBC programs. He works closely with Mountain Hardwears design team and in 2012 climbed the first ascent of Helmcken Falls, Canada - perhaps the most famous Ice Climb in the World. He has also established some of the hardest rock climbs in Cuba, Mongolia and Wales. Tim grew up in the United Kingdom, but he has more recently moved to Squamish, British Columbia,

and loving life up in Canada.

Tim has been a professional climber for 16 years. He pioneered some new things like para-alpinism years ago. He used to do quite a bit of wingsuiting and base jumping. He's

really well known for rock climbing and ice climbing. And he is now pioneering what he calls

deep water Soloing.

It's going really well.

Tim, I just gave a few bullet points, but will you tell us about how you got into these sports and a little bit more information about you and how you became a professional climber?

Yeah, sure.

It all started for me when I was at school.

I was 15 years old, and I had the opportunity to go climbing.

And I love getting out of school and going into the countryside and going to this place that was,

you know, surrounded by fields and cows and sheep and stuff like that.

And these cliffs were sticking out of the ground.
