But we were still coming down, thundering toward the water.

Well, we splashed down, all right, and that basket was wet.

We were wet up to our waist.

The forward inertia of the balloon carried it so that it was slapping on the side of the water,

even though the balloon was still maintaining, looking like a balloon,

and then it rebounded and looked like it was going to stand up again.

And the little gal in the basket, Teresa, started laughing, and I knew we were okay.

A Nebraska native, Craig Kennedy grew up in a ballooning family learning the science of

Aero Station from his father.

Craig has over 2,000 hours as a lighter than air pilot rated in both hot air and gas balloons and is an experimental home builder of balloons.

A full-time pilot, Craig is an independent contractor operating passenger flights and advertising balloons for multiple companies and several Fortune 500 clients.
