Summary

Slavery. It’s the sin some evangelical Christians just can’t – or won’t – let go of. In this episode of the Just Thinking broadcast, Darrell and Virgil discuss the ‘Report on Racism & Slavery in the History of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary’ recently released by the under the signature of its president Dr. R. Albert Mohler. In the report, Dr. Mohler acknowledges, confesses, and repents of the complicity of SBTS in fostering a culture of racism in America. But the report isn’t enough for many evangelical social justicians who describe it merely as a “good first step.”

what's going on with you. Yeah, I think there's definitely something going around, and folks

0:53.6

are probably hearing it in my voice, battling a bit of a sinus infection as we record this episode.

1:00.7

So I've got some stuffiness in my sinuses, man, sore throat, my chest is hurting a little bit,

1:10.3

you know, but I want to try to see if we can get through this. Yeah. In this episode for the

1:15.6

sake of our listeners. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm going to soldier through this and just try to

1:21.2

battle through it. So I'm ready to go and hope that the Lord was strengthening me during this hour,

1:26.6

and we're going to see if we can give our listeners something to hang their hat on. Absolutely.

1:32.1

Well, man, it was definitely, I'm always enjoyed the opportunity to go solo, but man, it is tough,

1:41.2

bro. It's not a, it's definitely not an easy task. I appreciate the listeners who provided some

1:45.9

good feedback, but it's never as much fun for me when you're not there, not available, man. So

1:54.2

I'm definitely glad to have you back, hoping that through our time together today, you'll get to

1:58.1

feel a little bit better. And then next week things will be, but will be even better for you after

2:03.1

you get some, some medicine in you, but man, it's good to have you back in any regard.

2:08.6

Yeah, thanks, man. And thanks for holding it down last week. I really enjoyed listening to the

2:13.1

episode that you did. And it's kind of interesting that the whole situation around Lauren Dagle
