My one-word answer is joy.

We get joy from climbing, and that we can bring down with us,

never mind a paradigm for all these complicated life things.

Just coming down filled with joy, you can transmit that to other people.

Today we have an amazing guest for you.

Jerry Roach is one of the premier mountain climbers, not only in Colorado, but also in the world,

but he's famed for all of his efforts in Colorado. He's written more than 15 books, climbing guides and other things to help mountain climbers find their way, and his exploits are just amazing so jerry moved to boulder

colorado as a lad in 1954 and he started rock climbing and bouldering then but his climbing continued on

until he had climbed all of colorado's 14ers and then he continued on to try some of the 13ers, and then he expanded

until he has climbed peaks all over the world. He's climbed the seven highest peaks on the seven

continents, including Mount Everest, including Donali and several others. He continued from there,

and he has climbed more than 2,000 peaks in Colorado.

He's climbed every ranked 13er, and those are all of the mountains that are over 13,000 feet tall.

He has done all of the highest points in all of the 50 U.S. states. So he's done the 50 summits for the United States. Jerry, welcome to the program.

Well, thanks for having me, Kurt. And howdy, folks. Well, Jerry, it's a real honor for me to talk to you. I want to tell the guests, one of my primary sports for the last 20 years or so has been climbing the 14ers and 13ers of Colorado.
