We're flying along and we're over the Everglades.

And there's just miles and miles and miles of nowhere.

If you land, you're probably going to get eaten by probably mosquitoes rather than crocodiles.

But that was a worse area as far as you could land, but it wouldn't be very much fun.

Dave is the owner of Mile High Gliding in Boulder, which is in its 17th year of operation.

In the late 70s, Dave moved to the United States from the United Kingdom, where he began his glider career in the early 70s.

He's been a glider pilot for more than 40 years.

Hi.

So, Dave, take a few minutes, if you would, and tell us about your connection to glider flying.

Well, I learned to fly gliders back in England in the early 70s.

I used to work for British Airways and flew gliders. my, you know, it was a passion to fly gliders

in my spare time and just, just really loved it.

Flew cross country and just had a wonderful time.

It was very, the camaraderie of the club atmosphere as well was really good.

And then when I came over here, I continued to fly for fun and commercially.
