1:34.3	Howdy everybody, CJ here, and welcome to a D.HP episode for the 2024 U.S. election.
1:44.2	It is almost upon us.
1:45.7	As I'm recording this, it's actually just under a week from the big day.
1:51.4	And I decided that I would make an episode kind of checking back in with two topics that I've hit upon repeatedly over the years I've been doing this podcast that are very relevant to elections.
2:03.1	And one is the concept of civil religion in America, and the other is the concept of party systems in American politics, in American political history.
2:13.1	I'm pretty sure I first explored the concept of civil religion in America in an older
2:19.9	D.HP episode I did in the lead up to the 2016 election.
2:24.9	And then I believe I hit that topic at least one more time in a big, you know, episode-wide
2:30.5	way since then. I think maybe in 2021 thereabouts.
2:35.4	And to be honest with you, I have not relistened to any of those episodes in a long time.
2:39.2	And same thing with our other sort of topic for today, which is political party systems in American history.
2:44.5	I've hit upon those, I think, multiple times in different ways over the years of doing the Dangerous History podcast.
