We just celebrated our 9-year anniversary (wild!) so marriage is at the forefront of this episode. ♥️ The last 9 years may have taken us away from our plans. But allowing the Spirit to move and shift them has led us to better plans than we could have expected, even if sometimes it has been challenging. Our marriage identity has been formed, and as we share our journey with you, we hope it inspires YOU to establish a marriage identity of your own.
We are diving into running the Helvetia Half Marathon, our 13-mile marriage nuggets, and a behind-the-scenes look at partnerships + brand deals for influencers.

0:00.0 | Welcome back to these are the days podcasts. Yes. So fun to say that. We love the new name. Thank you guys for all the love and just sharing about the new podcast name and the show last week. It was just awesome to see the energy. So fun to see the reactions to the season. This new season and the show being back. And I know it's something that. |
0:30.0 | A lot of you have been asking for for a long time and we've been saying it's coming. It's coming. It's coming. It's coming for literally years. So it's so fun to be back sharing with you guys in this platform. It's so fun for Jeremy and I. We love the banter of it. Just feels like a super organic place for us to be just like being here. So yeah, we've missed it. Yeah, it's super fun. So in this episode, we're going to share a little bit about our anniversary and. Well, we just had our nine. |
1:00.0 | Your anniversary. We just celebrated our nine year anniversary. So our minds are all fresh with marriage. Which is something that as you guys know, we've talked a lot about over the years, but we thought I'd just be fitting to share a little bit about our anniversary. Our time away and some things that we've gleamed from reflecting on this past year of our marriage. Yeah, doing our memories of us journal and reading our letters and all that. And so we're going to talk about marriage in this episode. Yeah, let's do it. |
1:30.0 | We're also going to revisit something we we did a few was a month ago now. We ran a half. Oh, it's been like three. It's three months. We ran this year. We ran two halves and a 10k. But in one of our half marathons, which was super special to us, because we actually ran the half marathon that Jeremy ran for me, quote unquote for me 13 years ago. Yeah, it's a story you guys know from reading our book. And we shared it on the podcast before, but we've. |
2:00.0 | We've never ran the halvaisha half marathon together. Yeah, like literally hand in hand in this time, but we've each done it several times. Well, you've only done once I've done three times, you've done it three times. Oh, that's right, because you did it during the COVID years. Yeah, that's right. But those weren't really like those were when you were just kind of bad. Oh, yeah, I mean, well, no, they canceled it. So my buddy and I were like, we're going to run this thing. So we ran it. I remember that we were I was like cheering with the kids at the mile markers. Anyways, so we ran that half together and we did a fun thing. |
2:30.0 | Where we shared a marriage nugget for every mile. So we had a 13 marriage nuggets that we shared with you guys. And it was super fun. And a lot of you were like, you guys got to make this into a podcast. Yeah, you got to share it somewhere. So we're going to put those. Yeah, we're going to revisit that neat podcast here. It probably won't be neat. We're going to put those on the podcast here for you guys. So um, nine years, babe. Yeah, it's been a it's been a wild nine years to tell you that I cannot believe we're coming up on 10. One of the things I was thinking about. |
2:59.8 | It literally just came to me is we've allowed these nine years to kind of come at us or. We've allowed ourselves to be taken away from our plans. You know, and I think that's also just our personality is not just our marriage. Like we are kind of that way. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Maybe that is very maybe that's very specific to a personality. |
3:27.3 | But it's also I think kind of how things have played out the way they've played. Like if we were left, we would have taken a much safer road in many directions. And I don't think it would have been nearly as exciting. |
3:41.8 | If we went, kept to our plans is what I'm kind of getting at. Totally. But we've kind of allowed the spirit to move and allowed us to go. Whoa, didn't think about that. Like let's do that or that seems a little riskier, but better reward. |
3:56.8 | To do that. Intentionally wild. Yes, exactly. Which is something that. Okay, so Jeremy and I, we shared this a little bit in the last episode. We talked about identity and our identities and how we've kind of come to knowing what our identities are, but God given identities that we have through listening prayer. |
4:19.8 | Yeah. And real quick, one of the, like kind of the key idea behind that. And we're going to do a whole podcast. Maybe we even try to get a one ship on or something. Yeah. |
4:29.6 | But the idea behind this is God calls you by a name. |
4:37.4 | Many, many, many people go their entire life without actually knowing the name God calls them by, right? Like we think our name, I think my name is Jeremy, Audrey thinks her name is Audrey. And it is to a certain extent, but that's a name that was assigned to her at birth, given to her by her parents, because they some reason like the name, you get where I'm going. |
4:57.4 | Audrey, you know, she's a mother, which is true, but that's also a name and an identity that's kind of been placed on her, given the world and circumstances and the framework, we, we kind of live in this, you know, this matrix of, and there are hundreds of names and identities. |
5:18.4 | We all attached to ourselves and gather throughout life. And they become the ego or they become the, they become the way you see your life. They're your glasses, essentially, and they're also, they also become the way the world sees you. |
5:34.4 | Like, oh, I know, and this is all very helpful, right? Like we would all, we wouldn't be able to identify anything if we didn't have this structure. |
5:41.4 | But the point is, those are all assigned to us and given to us, but underneath all of that, there's a deeper you, there's a deeper someone that God created, and he had a plan for that person. |
5:54.4 | It's like the language like who God called you to be. |
5:57.4 | Yes, and he named that person even. And through, you know, prayer and contemplative prayer and listening to Lord sitting with the Lord and being still annoying that he is God and |
6:08.4 | having good friends to do that. And having good community and friends. Yeah, you can, you can start to, you know, you can learn what that is. And for us, and people can affirm it in you. |
6:19.4 | And people can affirm it in you. And when you know it, when you hear it, or I should say when the Lord tells you what it is, and when you're quiet, and he's speaking, it just hits you like a ton of bricks. And you're like, that is who you call me. |
6:33.4 | Like that's my, that is at the deepest core of who I am. That's who I am to be. |
