In the years since Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014, perhaps one

of the most serious misconceptions as a result of widespread misreporting has persisted and

still persist to this day.

Even amid the heated political rhetoric that dominates the news media and social media,

resurrected false claims about the shooting stand out as egregious.

Earlier this month marking the fifth anniversary of the shooting, the following Democrats

all running for their party's nomination for president,

tweeted out statements containing disproven claims or false implications

about Michael Brown.
