I'm West Chatham and this is my good buddy, Ty Frank.

We're doing our first ever solo Tie in That Guy episode.

It's pretty exciting.

Super exciting.

And I just want to explain if it gets a little confusing, because

Ty and I had this idea to do this podcast where we connect it to the expanse, but we also talk

about other things that Expans fans would find interesting. It mimics our long conversations that

we have about genre and in genre culture and everything related to

genre. So we had the idea. We brought it to Amazon and Amazon said, why don't we turn this

into an after show for season five? So the first thing we did is the after show with season

five with guests that are connected to each episode that we highlighted. And we did a little bit of diving

into other things that inspired certain people that are working on the expanse, the actors.

And so this is an actual continuation of that. This is our first podcast where we're going to go

through and do a deep dive on every episode of the

expanse but also talk about the influences that that created the expanse but also made

us want to get into storytelling and things that we just love in general and for instance today

is about season one episode one one of The Expans.

And also, we're going to talk a lot about Alien because Ty and I happen to be super

Uber fans of the movie Alien and it inspired us to get in storytelling and do what we do.

And it was a direct influence on Ty for creating the expanse.
