I want you to hear verse 25 in the NAS, the new American standard. I had it down for those

of you in class, it says. And because he did not need anyone to bear witness concerning

a man, for he himself knew what was in a man. He did not need anyone to bear witness,

or in IV says, give testimony. Allison, what does the King James say? Testimony? I think it

does as well. NAS takes it to say bear witness and there's a reason why I want you to hear

it with those two words. It's all coming from the same Greek word and it means all of those

things that you see, or both of those things we see translated. But here's what I want

to pitch out to you. This is what I feel like. The Lord was revealing to me. Pitching out

this question, one very obvious answer and one not so obvious. Why didn't Christ need

anyone to bear witness concerning another? Well, it tells us he did not need any man's testimony

about man, for he knew it was in a man. So first of all, we know because he knows and we

don't. Because he knows and we don't. Now, why in the world does this come up here? I

think what would cause John to say that right there? I wonder if in that moment, they've

been around so many people. There were probably important people showing some interesting

Christ at this point. Nicodemus is going to come to him. Wham! In just no time at all as

it opens up in John chapter 3, I wonder if some of the disciples were going now, okay?

Let me tell you about him. Maybe in both positive and negative. Let me tell you what, you

don't need to tell me about nothing. Because I know exactly what is in a man. I know exactly
