0:00.0 | This is a Salaback Church podcast. Today we are continuing a message series called |
0:10.0 | transferring trust, and we've been looking over these last few weeks at the subject of trust. |
0:15.1 | We've been talking about how God has made us as humans to trust in him, that ultimately he's the only one worthy of our trust. |
0:24.0 | Now, when it comes to being trustworthy, we have a little bit of a challenge in our family |
0:28.3 | that we've been dealing with. We have three kids. We also have one family member who |
0:33.8 | thinks they're a child. And we've been having some struggles with this particular |
0:38.2 | individual. Her name is Mercy. Mercy in dog years is just over two. I'll show you a picture of |

0:55.9 | When you're gone, she's another. Now, you might meet her. If you met Mercy, you'd think, |
1:00.5 | oh, this is an incredible dog. Like, she's unbelievable. Her behavior is wonderful. And she is. |
1:05.9 | She's a phenomenal dog until we're gone. And it happened for us around October last year at Halloween. |
1:13.0 | Our kids got a bunch of candy. Somebody left chocolate out. Now, we do know that chocolate |
1:17.7 | kills dogs, but apparently Mercy has resurrected from the dead a few times while we've been |
1:23.6 | gone. And she gets a hold of chocolate and she got a sweet tooth. So anytime we leave now, |
1:29.0 | if there's anything in the house that's left out, mercy goes for it. She goes for chocolate. She |
1:34.2 | goes for candy. She goes for chips. She goes for bread. Even recently, as this last week, we left her |
1:40.4 | in our bedroom because we can't leave her out anymore. And apparently she read that verse in the Bible that says, |
1:45.9 | Eat the Word of God. |
1:47.6 | Because she went after Stacey's journal with all these Bible verses. |
1:50.6 | She ate it. |
1:51.5 | She ate an ink pen. |
