My entitled Psycho Parents blame me for the results of Eurovision, and as a result, decided to punish me in a way that was completely ridiculous, by confiscating my computer, taking away my allowance, as well as canceling my weekend trip with my friends that we had planned for several weeks. Here's what happened. Okay, so back in 2006, when Eurovision was held in Athens, I was watching the contest at home with my

mom and stepdad. Now my family has never been what you would call normal. There was a lot

of psychological mistreatment in the family. But that particular day seemed like it was going

to be nice. We had snacks, some soft drinks, and honestly we had fun. And then Lordy came on

stage with Hard Rock Hallelujah. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just Google an image of them, because trust me, it's essential to understand the vibe here. Now, my parents weren't religious at all. They didn't really care about religion one way or the other, but the moment they saw Lordy, they started laughing hysterically. They would say stuff like, what in the world is this? What a bunch of weirdos? This is ridiculous, stupid, and awful. And I was honestly shocked to see Lordy on Eurovision. But I also admitted that I actually know this band, I like them, and I listened to them. I then made the fatal mistake of adding that I even owned their CD. I went to my room and I brought it out to show them, and they kept

laughing. But now it was me they were laughing at. They said to me, oh, you're as stupid as that band. Your whole generation is stupid just like that band. And it's like, sure, whatever. I mean, I was used to this treatment. But overall, the vibe of the evening stayed okay. We were still hanging out together and it was nice overall. That is until Lordy started winning the competition.

my parents, well, they were furious and it didn't take me long to figure out that I needed to

stop showing my excitement. Instead, I tried to explain to them that Lordy was a pretty well-known

band and probably had fans in many

countries. That's why people were voting for them. Not because they were necessarily better than my

parents' favorites. But it was all too late. Lordy won and my parents absolutely hated losing.

And that's when it all really started. It always did. They said stuff like, oh, so you're happy now?

Happy that your freaks won? I suppose you're

going to tell us why this disgusting ideology actually makes sense to you. What's this now? Are you

crying? Are you playing the victim again? Poor you. No one likes your stupid music. And now you can

gloat because it appeals to a bunch of degenerates. Now as for teaching me a lesson, my parents

took away my computer, forbade me from going on a weekend trip with my friends, that we had planned for weeks, by the way, and then confiscated my allowance because apparently I had shown them disrespect. The next day, I ran away from home, and sure, it wasn't the first time I did this over the years, but it certainly would not be the last time. And again, this all comes down to the fact that my band won on Eurovision. Wow, that's a weird reason to get mad at your kid. Like, seriously, you didn't do anything wrong. The fact that they tried to like take this out on you is like so weird to me. Because clearly, this is not your fault that they won. The fact that they're trying to be like, oh, this is your fault somehow, you did this. Like, no, you didn't. You just happen to like the band, and they just happened to be on

Eurovision that year. Like, they probably were going to win regardless of if you said anything.

And yeah, if you look up, Lordy, they definitely look weird. But that also is not your fault. Like,
