| 0:00.0 | Hello, friends. Well, this is a bit different for us, but as we were prepping the Silver Blaze episode, |
| 0:09.8 | which will be completed very soon, we started to realize that there was just an abundance that we |
| 0:15.5 | wanted to share about our trip to England, and that it was going to make for a really long |
| 0:20.5 | silver blaze episode. |
| 0:21.6 | So we decided why not do something new and make it into its own little trip report episode, |
| 0:27.6 | especially because we were there for a few days. |
| 0:30.6 | And in addition to the David Burke visit, we did all kinds of Sherlockian stuff, |
| 0:35.6 | including visiting a few more shooting locations, revisiting some old haunts. |
| 0:40.3 | It just seemed like the thing to do. So, well, let's set the stage for this trip a bit. |
| 0:44.6 | Yeah. |
| 0:45.5 | As many of you know, we had been trying to get a hold of David Burke for a long time through his agents, through direct correspondence, through friends of friends. |
| 0:54.8 | And it's just always been crickets on the other end. |
| 0:57.0 | But miraculously, his agent replied to our most recent missive, |
| 1:01.7 | and then much to our shock, David Burke, was willing to be interviewed. |
| 1:05.8 | Now, we probably could have done this over Zoom, |
| 1:08.1 | but we've always said, I remember saying on the show in one of |
| 1:11.3 | the first episodes, that if we ever had the chance to talk with him, we would drop everything and fly |
| 1:16.9 | to England. And that's basically what happened because David proposed a date and it was like two |
| 1:22.7 | weeks from that day or maybe it was even less. Didn't matter. We had to do it. Right. So we scrambled. We got plane tickets and before we knew it, we were off. And we arrived the night before the interview with David and Anna. And unfortunately, the flight to England is a long one. And I, for one, I can't sleep on long flights. And I think it was 15 hours. So we were pretty white. We took a couple flights. Well, that's true. We booked last minute. Yeah, that's right. But we were pretty wiped when we arrived. And then we met up with our UK producer, David Ewell, at the airport. And he was kind enough to drive us back to the hotel, which we stayed in Emsworth. Lots of Mr. Whippy cones were consumed on this voyage. |
| 2:01.8 | Right. |
| 2:02.2 | Yeah, well, David took us to dinner at the local pier that night, which was just great, |
| 2:06.8 | and we got to see some of the local color. |
