So on August 7th, Eilat Musk tweeted that he had, quote,

funding secured, end quote, to take Tesla private at $420 per share

in the days that followed,

well, the story got a little more complex.

Yeah, it turned out that funding maybe wasn't so secured or even close and Tesla's board appeared to be taken by surprise.
