Well, welcome to this energy special podcast, which Pat and I thought we should do because so often

big issues about energy are coming up. The row about locational pricing is just the latest one. In fact,

it's not the latest because as we speak, there's been some kind of deal done as a reset with the EU

really know what they're talking about for a special podcast. And those two people are. Dave Pearson,

who is Group Sustainable Development Director at Star Refrigeration Limited, which will make

you think fridges, what, but also visiting Professor Edinburgh and Napier and Director of Star Renewables

who produce neat pumps, right, probably before we go any further. Dave, what is your thing?

What is it you produce?

Well, the main business is industrial refrigeration,

so we could use the whole podcast talking about ice rinks or chilled chocolate puddings

or fish fingers and so on.

Data centers, big cooling is absolutely everywhere,

but I'm responsible for a bit of the business,

which looks at large heat pumps, tennis court-sized heat pumps, but also the data analytics

behind that, making sure they're running absolutely sweet and so on. But also internally,

our sustainability mission, we're absolutely determined to have the minimum possible,

if any, impact on the surrounding environment. So we've got to walk the walk. So two bits,

thinking out the way in one bit, thinking in the way. And I should say that we met Dave,

you and I a while ago when we discovered, I was making a film about Norway and discovered that your kit

was actually powering part of the city of Draman in Norway, a heat pump there, which kind of
