Here we are, ladies and gentlemen, attempting to extricate ourselves from a pandemic and a lockdown

that has crippled many businesses, countless families, and costs millions of jobs.

As hospitality opens up and travel companies practically tries to collect enough money to see them through the last weeks of summer,

consumers are still being battered and bruised by unscrupulous companies every single day.

Today, my IRA is reserved for the greedy power companies that supply gas and electricity to our homes

as businesses.

As of October, they will be hiking their prices by as much as one-third, increasing annual

payments on average to households by as much as £150.

At a time when so many people are earning less money, when so many families are having to cut back, when inflation is crippling so many businesses, this is surely an outrage and a step too far.

And the reason, they claim wholesale prices have gone up by 50%.

Well, how is that our problem exactly?

Remember the last time they put the prices down because the wholesale prices went down by a percentage point. We'll be

addressing the problem coming up with someone from the campaign group. We own it. I'll be asking

him what the point of off jam is. It's meant to be a regulator, but it's operating more like a

protector of the big energy companies instead of the consumers. We need to hear your stories of

smart meters, of harassing phone calls,

of forced direct debits and general bad behaviour from all of them. Because let's face it,

the power companies now, the energy companies in this country, are pretty much a cartel,
