to keep their economies afloat.

Asia is particularly hard hit.

Japan taps into national oil reserves.

South Korea asks folks to take shorter showers to conserve electricity. And in India,

no gas cremations as supplies are being rationed for the living. This week, the Philippines

became the first country to declare a state of national energy emergency. President Ferdinand

Marcos Jr. appointed a committee to ensure the availability of fuel, food, medicines and agricultural products.
