Summary

In this episode, Eric Skwarczynski sits down with Jay Shifman, host of the Choose Your Struggle Podcast.

Launched in February 2020, the Choose Your Struggle podcast seeks to educate listeners on the issues of Mental Health, Substance Misuse & Recovery, and Drug Use & Policy, and in doing so help end the stigma around these topics. Only by telling our stories; only by talking about these issues without shame, without hesitation, and without pause, only then will we create a society where those who struggle to feel comfortable speaking out.

The podcast is published weekly, on Friday mornings, with the occasional special episode on Mondays.

Each episode features me chatting with an incredibly knowledgeable person on one of these topics. Or at least something in relation to one of these topics! Past guests include former Congressmember Katie Hill, Comedian Frank King, The Addiction Doctor Robb Kelly, Ultramarathoner Greg Nance, and many others.

The first season of the Choose Your Struggle Podcast closed in November. This season saw the podcast break into the top 200 Health and Wellness list on Apple and was streamed in more than thirty countries. Over 40% of listens this season came from outside the US.
